This is how the facts and information will be shown and presented on the new North American big-cat poster I am working on... I'm not sure if i should make a background or not, as the white looks plain... yet professional and credible

The layout, color scheme, and appearance is heavily based off of the layouts found in the book "Animal" by the Smithsonian Institute.

But to avoid any copyright issues, the writing, images, and composition, are all mine

the deviant preview shown is half the resolution of the full-dpi image

*Note, a minor edit has been done that added one more information box, and the fonts have been changed for a more aesthetic appearance

It reminds me also of the layout used by Dorling Kindersley books which is a good thing :)
I'd lay off the Times New Roman-like font and use Garamond or Goudy Old Style, though. Although it's all a matter of personal taste.

You may want to go for bust and use the subgenus: Panthera (Leo) leo atrox. It may not need reminding, but I'll say any way: italicize those scientific names ;)

Overall great work on the photomanipulation though the drop shadow/edge emboss could be done away with. The silhouettes on the size comparison could stand being a bit sharper-edged and the P. (L.) l. atrox one needs some filling in.

points well taken, thanks much!
As mentioned above, it's similar to the Dorling Kindersley style. It's lucid, professional, and easy on the eyes.

I more or less agree with the previous comment, so anything more I say will be redundant... :)

Very interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing the end result.
I just took another look at the book, it is a Dorling Kindersley book as well as a Smithsonian institute book haha
Very scientific looking and very good presentation. As a scientist myself I'm used to project many posters and I can tell you this one is a winner. Keep up the good work
Beautiful and informative. Pretty damn near perfect.
Looks good, if you wanted to do a background maybe a large lion head very light?

BTW, great info on Arctodus simus. I did not know that!

Best,

Brett
Some of the grammar is not so great, as in you have sentence fragments.

"First, its immense size... over 750 lbs."

No verb in the entire sentence. Probably more readable:

"First is its immense size, with some specimens weighing over 750 lbs."

Wonderful illustration and the format seems a lot like a AMNH/DK animal encyclopedia (I have one on my desk :P).
