Woolly Mammoth - WIP part 4

Still chipping away at the correct "shape" of the face, I think it's finally starting to look like the mug of a woolly mammoth though, as opposed to the simpler, easier method of "artistic interpretation" lol. I worked on the eye a bit, got the ear more or less in place and at the appropriate size, darkened the rear leg to prepare for coloring and shading, and I tweaked the tusk just a tad but realized I'm going to need to completely re-shape both of them. So in a nutshell here's what's next:

*The underside.

*The trunk.

*The tail

And as state the tusks need re-shaped

After I get those all to where I'm 95 percent happy, I will flatten the entire image and than just do last minute touch ups as I double check that I got every detail and proportion where I wanted it.

If any of you are wondering why I don't just to slap some hair textures on the beast, shape it like an elephant/mammoth and be done with it I can point you to my scrap section because I've done that before lol. This is for a museum, and I'm aiming for accuracy + working in very high resolution. This (along with the mastodon, dire wolf, and smilodon) are all going to be print capable scaled up to "life size"... Just because. resolution is 12,600 x 7,600
